Our client, a multinational corporation with approximately 5000 employees worldwide, is a chemical manufacturer located in South-Holland. The Dutch facility has around 500 permanent employees, making it the second-largest production site within the global company. The company is offering solutions to its customers across a wide range of industries with products that define the market. Over the past few years, they have made significant progress and are at the forefront of the industry in terms of responsible manufacturing. The organization has achieved a significant milestone in its journey towards minimizing emissions as close to zero as possible.

Main goal of the position 
The primary responsibility of the role is to develop the Health and Safety team and professionalize the company’s RI&E. This position is for those who want to make a difference in the biggest challenges the industry is facing. 

The position 
The company is taking the industry lead in responsible manufacturing with the tremendous emission reductions they achieved. But they are never ready. This position is for those who want to make a difference in the biggest challenges the industry is facing. In the Netherlands they take leadership with the emission reduction programs, and they are on a journey towards best-in-class Health and Safety practices and culture. Safety and health are top priority, both in relation to people and in relation to service delivery. You develop the Health and Services team and professionalize RI&E. Together you will create a strong interconnection with the Operations teams through presence in the Operations area’s. With your team you will work on safety interventions, incident investigations. 

 Responsibilities

  • developing, monitoring, and executing the organization’s EHS policy;
  • organizing and conducting safety inspections, internal audits, and audits at other locations;
  • guiding external inspections/audits by governments and independent auditors;
  • advising on safe and healthy work in the field of chemical, physical, and biological aspects and monitoring potential workplace risks;
  • checking and updating/improving of, among other things, RI&E (risk inventory and evaluation), VR (Safety Report), PBZO (Prevention Policy Major Accidents) and MRA (Environmental risk Analysis);
  • obtaining, maintaining, and managing ISO certifications and RC14001®;
  • advising and consulting with leaders of the different factories and other stakeholders both within and outside the company;
  • developing and implementing control measures to promote a safe working environment for employees and its contractors;
  • analyzing EHS issues and developing improvement plans involve incident investigation and implementing 'lessons learned.' Additionally, sharing 'best practices' within the organization and industry networks;
  • and increasing support for EHS policy within the organization and further developing team members.

Procedure
There will be several interview rounds with representatives from Lodiers & Partners and with our client. A personality questionnaire (Lumina) is part of this procedure.
